Be happy that you have a lot to lose.

You never really know where tidbits of inspiration will come from….or wisdom, for that matter. Year ago, I was complaining about days and days of rain. My friend smiled and said, “Rain makes things grow.” I have never forgotten those words or that moment. This morning, I was watching a sitcom and this lady was freaking out because she was worried about this and worried about that. She was taking an inventory of all the things she had lost over the years. Of course, someone told her to look at everything she has to be grateful for. Someone else came along and told her, “Be happy that you have a lot to lose.”
This got to me, cuz I took a look around at all that I have and easily it could be lost. I decided to give my gratitude list a make over to include all the things I’d hate to lose and be happy that I have so very much to lose. I think it would do a lot of people some good to look at things this way. So, instead of focusing on the shit that’s gone wrong or the things you’ve already lost…let’s be happy that you have more to lose and work on being grateful for what we still have. ♥

It’s all about Equal10!!

It’s all about Equal10!! Well, this post at least. I’ll readily admit that I am an event junkie! I love seeing designers from all over the grid all bringing out their latest and greatest in one place. Don’t get me wrong, I love some mainstore releases, too. Let’s face it, I love shopping! The thing about events, for me, is that each event usually delivers a certain flair. Equal10 has quickly become one of my favorites, because more often than not, I can count on at least three or four of my favorite stores to be presenting. This round is most definitely one of those. I did my best to squeeze in as many of my favorites as I could straight away. I mean, look at the list of credits! I love what I’m wearing. I love the pose. I love my surroundings.
I actually really love this photo and how it turned out. *winks at her haters* Yes, I used bokeh and an overlay. I know its not perfect and I’m by far no expert photographer or editor, but if you can’t love your own work….how can you expect others to like it? Naturally, with me loving the photo so much, it will probably do poorly on Flickr as that seems to be the trend when I really like a photo. *laughs* That’s just the way the Flickr cookie seems to crumble. The real point of this photo is to show off all the insanely good creations that the designers have shared with us at reasonable prices.

Closing this chapter

Well, so long, Genus. I’m not turning my back on you because of the dmca or any of that. I have a new head now and I will be featuring it soon. For now, I dedicate this post to the look I grew to love very much while wearing this head. I absolutely adore the look of the Genus heads, but the huds frustrate me to no end and I never can get the neck quite right with the legacy body. So, one final close up as I close the chapter on this look. I will always love the looks I achieved with Genus, but its time to embrace the new.

Just Wear It

I’ve tried to avoid doing photos with masks. I didn’t want to offend anyone or make light of our current situation. However, since I found out that this is no longer a one and done disease. Not only can you contract this disease twice, but the numbers are getting insanely higher by the day. So, it seems that for those of us not wanting to get sick, masks are going to be part of our lives for quite some time. Ladies are going to save a ton on lipstick!
However, I’m looking at this as an opportunity for us to really showcase our eyes. We can get super creative with our masks and matching eye shadow combinations! Okay, sure we might not do our hair with branches sticking out, but the mask and eye shadow combo are brilliant and you know it! Plus, if we have to wear masks for a while, they might as well be fashionable. Maybe if we make them cute enough we can get everyone to wear them, even those selfish assholes that think they’re too good to wear a mask.
