I haven’t been feeling much like myself the last couple of days, but before that I was so busy I didn’t have time to think. Now that things have slowed down just a bit, I feel rather lost and not quite sure what to do with myself. I did take some time away from the pc yesterday. Did some reading and just relaxing. I was hoping to sit out on my patio, but its been just a bit too chilly and everything is wet from the recent rains. So, I curled up in bed with my book instead. Not a lot going on at the moment, but I swear if I’m not balls to the wall busy…I just feel lost. However, its Monday, so I’ve hit the ground running this morning and I’m off to conquer a new week!
In November of last year, Atelier Burgundy & Pitaya teamed up to create a bookstore gacha for Anthem. Fortunately for me, there was a fatpack option. Without any hesitation or even too close of a look, I snatched it up and sat on it for months. I knew a time would come that I would finally create a used bookstore. Well, here comes Anthem with a boho themed round for April and lucky little me, had access to Bueno’s set, as well as THOR’s. Now, get this…InsurreKtion recently invited me to join their blogging team as a VIP and there it was, sitting so pretty in Blogotex! A boho deco set!!! I knew this was it! I quickly rezzed all the things….the bookstore fatpack and all three of my boho sets. But wait, there’s more magic…Mikel Monk, the creator behind the Bueno brand, had named his couch, Kerouac!! Now, I realize there are tons of readers out there that have their own connection to Jack Kerouac, but for a while in college, I was absolutely obsessed. I even had a cat named, Jack Kerouac! I mean, clearly this was a sign, right?
I did my best to list everything in the credits, but as you can see from the photo, I used a ton of items to create my used bookstore. I was picturing one of those really cozy used book stores, that brings in a few treats first thing in the morning with a couple of canisters of coffee, but once those things are gone, that’s it for the day. They sell a variety of collectibles, new and used books, and encourage their customers to hang out.
I typed book and books into my inventory search and just started rezzing out everything. I didn’t bother trying to list every single collection, stack, and row of books, because that would have taken me all day. Let’s face it, I’d rather be reading! I did grab the names of some things, but if you really want to know a specific item in the photo, just let me know. I don’t think I’ll be tearing down this scene anytime soon. ☺
and an assortment of books from Apple Fall, Balaclava!!, Bazar, Dust Bunny, Elm, Fancy Decor, KraftWork, and Zerkalo…plus lots that were part of the Atelier Burgundy + Pitaya . Bookstore set.
Don’t faint. I know, its a decor only post and I haven’t done one of those in ages. Trust me, you’ll see it again, cuz I plan on posing with this scene, too. Plus, I never said I wouldn’t blog decor. How could I not, I love decorating. I’m so in love with with the CONCEPT} CASA PARADISO set at Arcade. So, not only will you see this scene again, or at least parts of it. You will also see more from that set. So, without further blabbering, I’m going to start working on something else! HA! Bathroom scenes have always been my most challenging, too. So, here I am trying to do another one. Be nice.

“Every person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future. Jobs, family, employers, and friends can exist one day without any one of us, and if our egos permit us to confess, they could exist eternally in our absence. Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.”
― Maya Angelou, Wouldn’t Take Nothing for My Journey Now
“Another secret of the universe: Sometimes pain was like a storm that came out of nowhere. The clearest summer could end in a downpour. Could end in lightning and thunder.”
― Benjamin Alire Sáenz, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

Recently I wrote about cutting back on decor blogging. Yet, now that Sassy has been helping me, it has become one of my favorite things to do again. Not just creating a scene, but the back and forth that she and I have while working on it together. I never imagined I could click with someone so well in regards to decor. It just seems like a solo project. Yet, she has the most brilliant ideas and they feed right off of mine. We cut up sooo much while doing, too. We did this entire scene in one hour! Its been a long time since I’ve had this much fun creating blog scenes. I suspect my readers/viewers will be seeing a lot more of her and her work. Thank you, Sassafrass♥

I’m pretty sure that I’ve previously mentioned my love for kitchens in Second Life. I honestly don’t have tons to talk about this morning, but if you are ever looking for great ideas to elevate your kitchen I can recommend so many stores to gather items from…no matter what style you’re looking for. Pictured below are just a few of my favorites, but honestly, there is sooo much more out there and its all wonderful. So, stay tuned, cuz whether I cut back on decor shots or not….kitchens and cozy corners will always be something I blog whenever the opportunity arises.
So, I wanted to make a complete scene, inside and outside, because these items just kinda flowed together…at least in my mind. Below each picture there’s a set of credits that pertain specifically to that photo. I don’t know if I’ll do this again, but y’all know me…I like to experiment from time to time. *grins*
While putting this room together, I was just imagining how amazing it would feel to sink down into this superbly comfortable looking chair from DaD with a good book, some hot tea, and a light snack. Settling in for a nice afternoon with the sunlight streaming in the windows, reflecting off the crystals in the light…the little lights twinkling as the sun goes down. I can easily see losing track of time in a place like this. While I might not have room for a space like this in real life, I can live vicariously though my avatar as so many of us do. I wonder what kind of non sexual fantasies other people bring to life in Second Life. I’d love to hear about yours if you care to share. ♥
