My dog day afternoon

So, this picture took me on a wild ride. I knew as soon as I saw this big beautiful beast what kind of photo I wanted to take. I knew exactly where. What I didn’t know was what song I’d put with it or what I would write about. I could write about how beautiful the sim is at Burrow Co. I could write about how awesome the pets at Rezz Room are, but I feel like I’ve done both of those things in the past. After taking the picture, I was thinking, “Isn’t there a song about a dog day afternoon?” So, off to YouTube, I went. What I discovered is that no, its not a song, its a movie! It’s an Al Pacino movie! AND I’ve never seen it! Then I realized how old the movie was and took a moment to mourn my youth. That movie is almost 50yrs old. *sighs* Turns out, its based on a true story, too. My afternoon was quickly filled with Al Pacino and learning about the true story. The movie was really good, of course. However, that movie has absolutely nothing to do with my photo. So, here we have it…another post with no song. *gasps* I know, y’all gonna have to start reading again if this continues! *laughs*

So much going on

So, this week has been a lot. I’ve had some really crappy things happen in RL that I won’t talk about right now, because…reasons. On the upside, my big slister, Kess Crystal….erhm…Kess MASSIMO,  got married yesterday and I couldn’t be happier for her. I’m not sure I would ever find any man she dated truly worthy of her, but she is happy and I’ve not seen her love a man this hard in a very long time. He makes her laugh more than he makes her cry. Which says a lot, cuz even I can make her cry. WHAT? I meant happy tears, damnit! I’m not THAT mean to my sisters….sheesh. Anyway, they had a private ceremony yesterday and it was truly beautiful. And anyone that knows me, knows how much I loathe weddings. So, when I say it was beautiful, I mean it. I would say it was the second most beautiful wedding I’ve attended on the grid. The prettiest was when Posh married Just D. THAT wedding was more my style, so naturally I favor that one. It was almost what I would want if I was forced into having a wedding of my own. Yes, I said FORCED. OMG, I cannot stay on track…ok, so love is in the air, ok? OK! I’m happy for my sisters, one got married and I’m pretty sure my other one is falling in love. Let’s just hope my little sister doesn’t drag me into a wedding, too.
Meanwhile, I’m showing off some of the amazing finds from Kustom9 with a backdrop you can grab at Access. I used to associate Luas with lingerie, but they’re doing some really cute clothes these days and for the Legacy body, too! So be sure to check them out! And Paleto is new to me, but they are coming in hot with some amazing backdrops. So, if you love photography, this is definitely a store to check out. And while this photo isn’t really close enough for you appreciate the details of things like lashes & lipstick…I listed them, because I was wearing them and they are gorgeous. I swear, there is so much goodness out there right now…if not for blogger packs, I’d be in debt up to my eyeballs!

Inner Battles

I hope that everyone is enjoying the holiday season, but I know that not everyone will. Suicide rates are higher during this time of year than any other. While the holidays tend to make most of us embrace our families and our friends, there are some that are reminded of those they lost. There are some that are feeling more alone now than any other time of year. It is super important that we put our differences aside and reach out to one another with kindness. The best gift you can share with people right now is humanity. Caring about one another and being there for those around us that might not be enjoying the holidays quite so much. I know from personal experience how utterly devastating it can be to watch couples around you celebrate their love…to watch parents light up at their children’s’ delights…all the while having no one to share this special time with. So, please, don’t let those fighting these inner battles, fight them alone. Join their personal army to defeat those demons and help each other be all that you can be. *grins* See what I did there?

A Warning

Sometimes I think that people like me should come with a warning. I mean, in my mind there are walls and barbed wire all around my heart, but there are no signs. I never considered it until just now. She absolutely loved this time of year. This was the time of year that she didn’t have to change between jobs. This was the time of year that she could lick the blood off her knife and people would simply laugh at her silly antics. No one suspected for even a moment that she was actually tasting the blood of her victims. There was something truly delicious about being her true self in front of everyone without them even suspected for a moment that she had just killed another worthless scumbag.
