When I started decorating my current home on the Blake, I immediately used the Familiar Mess desk from Nutmeg. My bestie, Harvey, came to see my progress and said that my desk was triggering. He can’t stand a messy desk. Immediately, I knew that I would be changing my desk and using this Mess on the Desk set from Insurrektion. The next time he came over, I let him know that I had taken away the desk that triggered him. *grins* He knew I was trolling him, but he looked anyway. He responded with, “I hate you.” He doesn’t, but he did in that moment. I left it out so it can trigger him every time he comes over. *giggles*

In November of last year, Atelier Burgundy & Pitaya teamed up to create a bookstore gacha for Anthem. Fortunately for me, there was a fatpack option. Without any hesitation or even too close of a look, I snatched it up and sat on it for months. I knew a time would come that I would finally create a used bookstore. Well, here comes Anthem with a boho themed round for April and lucky little me, had access to Bueno’s set, as well as THOR’s. Now, get this…InsurreKtion recently invited me to join their blogging team as a VIP and there it was, sitting so pretty in Blogotex! A boho deco set!!! I knew this was it! I quickly rezzed all the things….the bookstore fatpack and all three of my boho sets. But wait, there’s more magic…Mikel Monk, the creator behind the Bueno brand, had named his couch, Kerouac!! Now, I realize there are tons of readers out there that have their own connection to Jack Kerouac, but for a while in college, I was absolutely obsessed. I even had a cat named, Jack Kerouac! I mean, clearly this was a sign, right?
I did my best to list everything in the credits, but as you can see from the photo, I used a ton of items to create my used bookstore. I was picturing one of those really cozy used book stores, that brings in a few treats first thing in the morning with a couple of canisters of coffee, but once those things are gone, that’s it for the day. They sell a variety of collectibles, new and used books, and encourage their customers to hang out.
I typed book and books into my inventory search and just started rezzing out everything. I didn’t bother trying to list every single collection, stack, and row of books, because that would have taken me all day. Let’s face it, I’d rather be reading! I did grab the names of some things, but if you really want to know a specific item in the photo, just let me know. I don’t think I’ll be tearing down this scene anytime soon. ☺
and an assortment of books from Apple Fall, Balaclava!!, Bazar, Dust Bunny, Elm, Fancy Decor, KraftWork, and Zerkalo…plus lots that were part of the Atelier Burgundy + Pitaya . Bookstore set.
I love my cat. I really do, but I’m starting to understand why people prefer dogs. I woke up this morning to a paw to the jaw. Yep, that’s right, he walked on my face. My reaction was a slinging arm which resulted in a cat flung across the bed, followed by a soft murr. This was not a wounded cat sound. Trust me, I’ve heard plenty of those noises. Step on a cat’s tail just once and you’ll never forget it. No, just three little gentle murrs. I couldn’t go back to sleep at this point. I had to get up and find out if he was okay. I’m not a monster, ya know? He’s fine. Once he saw that I was awake, his attitude suddenly changed. I swear that he looked at me and in his little meow language said, “Oh, you’re up! Feed me?”
Needless to say, I fed the little bastard and now he’s lying comfortably on his perch, licking himself. I’m pretty sure he’s quite proud of himself this morning. *looks out the window* FFS, the sun isn’t even up yet. I suspect there’s a nap in my future.
I don’t know if its as present in other forms of social media as it is on Facebook, but it’s there that passive-aggressive behavior seems to thrive in the forms of elusive memes mysteriously aimed at the poster’s offender. However, this is not the only place or form of said behavior. It’s also exhibited by avoiding people and repeatedly making up reasons to avoid particular individuals as a way of expressing distaste for certain people. I’m pretty sure we’ve all done that. These behaviors are often destructive, but odds are that we all are guilty of this at one time or another. With a little research and a bit of work on ourselves, we can learn to understand the causes and how to properly deal with our emotions. In doing so, we can become mentally healthier and reduce hurting those we love. At the end of the day, do we really want to hurt each other? I know I don’t.

I don’t have a lot to say today. It’s been a weird week and I’m hoping things will be better in the upcoming week. Thank goodness for retail therapy! Between FaMESHed, C88, and Equal10, I’ve got plenty of ways to make myself feel better. On that note, I’m featuring two sets from the current anniversary round of FaMESHed. Elm has done this intricate bathroom set and Mudhoney delivers drapes with open & closed versions that are a must have for anyone that loves to decorate.
Think I got you on my mind
Not really one to waste my time
What you doin’? What you sayin’?
I ain’t really got no feelings
I don’t even know your name
So why don’t you go and do the same?
Mind your business, little bitches
I know you’re listenin’ so just hear me there
The truth is you don’t even
Know what the hell you believe
But you should believe
Lions don’t lose sleep
Over the opinions of sheep
So if you’re waitin’
To watch me fall
Watch me fall
Watch me fall
I’ma keep you waitin’
To watch me fall
Watch me fall
Watch me fall
I’ma keep you waitin’

I’m pretty sure that I’ve previously mentioned my love for kitchens in Second Life. I honestly don’t have tons to talk about this morning, but if you are ever looking for great ideas to elevate your kitchen I can recommend so many stores to gather items from…no matter what style you’re looking for. Pictured below are just a few of my favorites, but honestly, there is sooo much more out there and its all wonderful. So, stay tuned, cuz whether I cut back on decor shots or not….kitchens and cozy corners will always be something I blog whenever the opportunity arises.
Well, its official, I’ve changed my name from Sadystika Sabretooth to Sady Littlepaws. I’ve committed myself to being the cat lady. *nods* Its cute and I love cats. I relate to them. I like knocking things off shelves, too. Okay, I do it so I can get to them…I’m usually knocking things to the edge with a wooden spoon or something. Then I stand under the item hoping to catch it. The new name suits me…its closer to who I am now. And no, I’m not about to become a furry. LOL.
There are lots of fun new names out there and I can’t wait to see them all. I commend Linden Labs for choosing to do this while we’re going through so much. It would have been nice if they had given us a little break on the price, but all in all, I’m happy I made the change.
I recently decided to create a fresh, new home for Chris and myself. You can’t see it here, but I chose the round compound from Bad Unicorn (its at Uber). This build presents it’s challenges as it has two room with curved walls, but the middle area I was able to divide in half. The photo here is of the living room half…well, part of it. I’m so excited to be able to not only create an amazing living space, but to have the honor actually blogging a room I will keep and use regularly for months to come. This is a room made with love more than a decorator’s eye, but I’m really happy with how it looks, too.
