Blanket and Magnet

It’a another Challenge to Challenge post!! First off, I have to fangirl just a bit. Exis actually gave me this challenge and I’m a huge fan of her work. If you’re not familiar with her, you must check her out! So, she gave me blanket and magnet, which worked out perfectly for this post, because of the dogs. Let the short story unfold…

She didn’t have children in the traditonal sense, but she had two beautiful female huskies that she referred to as her dogters. Blanket and Magnet were named for their behavior, as Blanket had dragged around some type of covering since she was brought home. She had quickly discovered how to cover herself with it, too. Magnet followed Blanket every where and always had to be touching Blanket or the blanket she used to cover herself. This was to be their first Christmas as adult dogs and though Sady was quite sure that her furry children had no understanding of the holiday, she wanted it to be special for them. Each day they received a special little treat from the advent calendar and each day she added more to their Christmas scene. Magnet had gotten tangled up in the lights, but didn’t want them removed. For now, Sady would allow it. She drank her hot cocoa as she reflected on the past year and everything that had happened. She looked lovingly at her girls and found gratitude that there were at least two creatures in her life that had yet to betray her.

I am such a sucker for decor and houses in SL. I took a break from blogging home decor for a few months a while back and I missed it so bad, I had to return. I’m far from being one of the top home decor bloggers, but I can promise you that it tears at my heart each time I build a scene and tear it down. This entire song has been one of those songs that I’ve related closely to from the very first time I heard it. There’s a weird sense of comfort in surrendering myself to the pain accompanied by lyrics. I didn’t list all of the lyrics, just the first punch. I’ve always love quaint, comfy locally owned coffee shops. Long before Starbucks put itself in ever Target and strip mall they could fine, before Dunkin was better know for their coffee than their donuts, there were these amazing little coffee shops in my area. They made you feel at home. The coffee was great, the people were great, the atmosphere was great. Though each coffee house had its own energy and style, each one was equally welcoming. Sadly, when Starbucks and Dunkin popped up everywhere with their fancy little drive thru windows…and life got busier…and I pulled away from my friends…well, I don’t even remember the last time I was in one of those coffee houses.

Hidden Treasure

Play Time

I see videos all the time of people recording their pets when no one is home. Their animals get into all sorts of things. However, mine seem to save their high jinks for an audience. We don’t come home to broken things or accidents. Nope, my animals do it all while we’re home. The most absent we can be is when we’re sleeping.
Now with my dog, Zoey, I know she’s being polite by not waking us up if she needs to go out. She’ll go in the kitchen where she knows it’s easy to clean up, rather than having an accident on a rug. She’s a good girl and smart, too.
My cat, Mr. Mayhem, on the other hand, is the epitome of an asshole cat. He seems to think that if he gets in enough trouble, we’ll throw him outside. Unfortunately for him, I know the story of Brer Rabbit. Mostly, I just yell at him as I chase him under furniture screaming, “You better learn to use the phone and dial the ASPCA, cuz I’m about to whoop your ass!”

Retail Therapy

After doing some minimal research on the Googlenets, I discovered that the average cost of one therapy session can range between $75-$200. That’s one hour to tell my problems to a stranger that’s going to turn around and ask me how does that make me feel? Nah, I’ll take my $200 for some shopping, because nothing makes me feel better than some retail therapy. I’ll tell my problems to the beautician, the nail girl, or the bartender like a normal person. *giggles*
