I’ve been super sick. My symptoms started on Saturday and have changed a bit since then. I haven’t thrown up since Sunday, but Monday night and Tuesday I had a low grade fever that has gone up and down, periodically throughout the day, fluctuating between 99.5 & 101. It’s weird having a fever, I honestly cannot remember the last time I had one. Seems to have gone down now. So, I’m sure I’m already on the mend. Of course, when I told people my wide range of symptoms, everyone automatically jumped to the Covid conclusion. Unlike far too many people out there, I am vaccinated. (I will not even go into that.) I never felt like it was Covid, nor do I believe it was the flu. I seriously never leave my house and the only person I’ve encountered is my mother, who is also vaccinated…75yrs old, and healthier than me. Also, my symptoms were pretty much the symptoms for EVERYTHING. I think what I found the most amusing in all of this was the wide variety of advice people were giving me. They forgot that my mother is a retired registered nurse or that I’m almost 53 years old. Drink tea, drink water, drink juice….don’t drink tea, avoid juice, don’t drink too much water. Eat soup. Don’t eat. Eat crackers. Eat toast. Get a covid test. Get some rest. Try to exercise. Get some sunlight. Dark cold room. None of my friends are doctors, but several do work in the medical field or have. Yet, even they have contradicting advice. They all mean well and I love them for that. Better to have too much advice from an abundance of people that care, than not a single IM from anyone that already knows you’re sick af. On Sunday, I thought perhaps it was food poisoning, as I ate some questionable romaine lettuce. All I know if I ever die by lettuce, I’m gonna be PISSED! For now, I’ll just sit on my land and do my lil fishing game. It relaxes me and I love my little sl home on the Blake. Feel free to come visit. ♥

I’m watching this show with this amazing witch in it. She makes all these crazy concoctions with hamster parts and tadpoles and God knows what else for these spells. Naturally, I’m grossed out. Later on, I’m eating some left overs of roast beef and mashed potatoes. It got me thinking about how cooking really is just some gross body parts of an animal, mixed with other ingredients, then served up to someone to devour. I have to wonder if that’s as gross to a lifelong vegetarian as the scene from the movie is to us. You see, years ago, I had this massive group of friends in real life and four of us lived in the same apartment building. Our doors were always open to our friends, most of them had their own keys. Anyway, it was Thanksgiving weekend and we had this huge feast at my house. Afterwards, the leftovers were placed in the fridge, including a partially eaten Turkey on a platter. My best friend was dating a vegan. Like he was hardcore vegan. She asked him to grab her a drink from the fridge. He opened the fridge and gasped, then quickly slammed the fridge door. His face was pale and he looked at her, “There’s a carcus in the fridge!” We all cracked up laughing, while he didn’t find it remotely funny and was literally sick to his stomach. So, here I am all these years later, eating my left over roast, still watching this show (there are 8 episodes) and I’m like, “Hmm, this isn’t so different from what she’s made.” I mean, we plopped this big piece of a cow into a (crock)pot, we sprinkled some herbs and onions on it, then a bit of water and left it to cook for eight hours. Then we ate it. Not so different, is it? Except we ate it without intent of anything other than substance and joy. We obtained joy from eating the flesh of what used to be part of a living, breathing creature. Are we monsters?

I’m speaking on a BVN panel later today. The panel is about Blog Management and I suppose I’m a bit of an authority on the topic since I’ve been doing it for years now. I absolutely love being a blog manager, so I’m both honored and humbled to be asked to join the panel. I’ve done the panel before as a blogger and a blog manager, but its been a very long time and for some reason I’m super nervous about today. I’m always afraid I’m going to say something stupid or worse, offend someone. Which is kinda funny, cuz I usually don’t care what people think and I’m known for being brutally honest. However, I’ve kinda softened a bit over the years. Okay, who am I kidding, I’ve just been working a lot harder on my filter, okay? Wish me luck!

I recently posted to Facebook, “Why do some people think that their every thought deserves a post on Facebook? I don’t get it.” This was mostly aimed at one particular person that posted their opinion about ONE item being sold at an event. She thought the item was overpriced or something. It was just this one random thought and she caught all sorts of hell in her comments from people that were appalled at her post. First and foremost, I will defend her right to post whatever she wants. It’s her page, she can do what she wants. I do not believe that she deserves to be attacked in the comments, but if she is…I’m here for it. I know I shouldn’t admit that, but let’s be real that’s the best part of stumbling across these posts. With that said, I am also the person that will unfollow someone like that. I don’t care about rando thoughts on random subjects, particularly if they tend to be negative, boring, and serve no clear purpose…be funny or be gone! With all of that said, I do know there are people who can laugh at themselves and find their own behavior so ridiculous that they need to share. I honestly think that this sort of post is asking for validation and is a bit more understandable. Now, if I don’t find you as funny as you find yourself….welp, I’m probably going to unfollow…cuz be funny or be gone! I know I’m not the only person annoyed with these types of posts and by all means, please don’t think I am attacking anyone. I promise I’m not. I appreciate the freedom of speech and just because I personally find someone to be an waste of time and space, certainly doesn’t mean they truly are or that everyone agrees with me. I’m nobody. My opinion holds as much weight as the girl who decided to tell the whole world that she put BBQ sauce on her fries by accident and loved it. I mean, I’ve been putting BBQ sauce on potato wedges for years…ya don’t see me bragging about it all over Facebook. Pffft, get a blog, then if anyone reads it…they did this to themselves! *grins*

I was hanging out with some of my favorite people last night and one of them made a comment about “lazy homeless” people. I quickly jumped on the defensive. As I have been homeless on a number of occasions in my 20s and there was nothing lazy about my situation. Of course, I encountered loads of other homeless people during those times. I had to explain that while there are some people that simply don’t want to be responsible members of society. However, the bulk of the homeless people I encountered were anything but lazy. As being homeless is not an easy way to live. People that live in shelters must abide by an excess of rules put in place to keep things as orderly as possible. There are curfews and requirements one must continuously make to continue their stay and many shelters have limitations on how long people can reside there. I don’t have specific numbers, but I’d dare say that the majority of homeless people have not chosen that lifestyle as their preferred method of existence. Plus there are far more living without shelter. That is NOT an easy way to live. Its beyond dangerous. Once a person is homeless, it is safe to say that getting back on your feet is ridiculously hard. As I pointed out to my friend, what is the first thing you do the morning of a job interview? Shower, right? If you have no home, you have no shower and probably don’t have much in the way of a clean nice outfit to wear. Anyway, the point is, don’t be so quick to judge people in situations you can’t begin to understand. Turns out that one of the other people there had also experienced homelessness and was glad that I spoke up. Meanwhile, our uninformed friend was enlightened and apologized. I didn’t find the apology necessary, but it was appreciated. I was especially glad that we were all able to have such a beautiful conversation about life without hate or disgust. I won’t name them, because too many private matters were discussed and only my part of the story is mine to tell. I suspect they might read this and because they might I want to give them to know something. I love you and I’m so grateful for your friendship. I look forward to getting to know you even better in the years to come. ♥

I don’t do this a lot, but y’all know me. I do what I want! So, today I want to tell you a little bit about Serasim. SeraSim is where Seraphim lives inworld. Their offices are there. It’s where they pretend to do work. *grins* Now, the thing is that SeraSim is not just offices. Ohhh no….they wouldn’t dare stop there. Nope. They have shops there and events! Yes, shopping events, but other stuff, too. So, first and foremost, I encourage you to go check it out. It is really well done…think Havana and a fancy shopping center merged. There are places for parties, live singers, etc. There are actual shops and….AND…they have some pretty nifty shopping events there. For instance, you see the vagrant top in this picture? It goes perfectly with my new Cheri Jeans from Bueno! I only paid L$70 for this top! Can you believe that? IKR?!?! They have this cool thing at SeraSim called 70L SERASIM SUNDAY! They have carts all around the sim with these amazing deals. I got a badass school room backdrop for only L$70, too! Plus a wonderful couple’s pose from Vanity Poses! Seriously, you will be amazed at the deals! I’ll be telling you more later on, but for now….get ready for some super savings on Sundays (and maybe a few days after)!
