Dear Bloggers…again

So, this is directed to bloggers from me as a blog manager, not a fellow blogger. I can’t speak for all blog managers, but I know more than one that feels the same way I do. Time to put things in a little perspective. Here’s the deal based on my limited experience and I’d love to hear from other blog managers on this, as well. Feel free to disagree, but please keep it polite-ish. *laughs*

Bloggers, please don’t argue with your blog manager. It’s fine to ask questions, but when you challenge your blog managers and insult them? Well, guess what? We are human, too. We are not perfect and we make mistakes. Guess what else we do? We talk to each other. If you are a blogger and constantly arguing with your blog manager? You are going to get a reputation for being difficult and as word spreads, you’re not likely to get as many gigs. I’m not saying kiss our butts, that’s ridiculous. However, as a blogger you must be receptive to feedback, both positive and negative. Oh, and if you go running your mouth about the blog manager to the designer, they usually tell us.

Bloggers, please don’t hunt down the blog manager after your application has been rejected to argue about why you should be on the team. There was a reason you were not chosen, its fine if you want to know how to improve, but please stop begging for a spot. It’s not going to work and blog managers talk to each other about that stuff, too.

Bloggers, please refer to the brand you’re speaking about when reaching out to a blogger manager, because some of us work for more than one brand. So, especially if you’re dropping notecards on us, pretty please say which brand you’re talking about.

Lastly, its important that bloggers understand that when a blogger manager gives you feedback or rejects a post, its because we’re doing our jobs. We care about the brand we represent. We are human and make mistakes, just like you and most of us are bloggers, too. Just so you know I’m fully aware that I’m not perfect, I will tell you that I’ve had posts rejected by both CandyDoll and Cynful. They were fully within their rights to reject my posts for whatever reason they wanted, but I knew they were right about those photos. So, I simply did them over and that’s all we want…showcase the item, because remember it is a bloggers job to show off the items being blogged and hopefully make someone else want to own them as well.

Most importantly, we love most of our bloggers…MOST, because without you…we wouldn’t have a job and it is with you that we work together to make the brand the best it can be by sharing their amazing products with our own personalized perception. Don’t ever get discouraged, we all started somewhere and if your heart is in it, you will succeed.

Cupid Is a Rapist

So, what’s the deal with Cupid? We chose the God of Date Rape as our symbol for Valentine’s Day? Who makes these decisions? I can bet it wasn’t Gloria Alfred! Okay, calm your tits, I’m just being the asshole on Valentine’s Day because this time last year I was happy it was annoying…*laughs.* So, I’m here to spoil the mood this year or at least twist it around a  bit. Wait, there’s logic to this….just listen. So, cupid, this lil fuckers just goes about shooting people with an arrow that takes away their free will…forcing them to feel desire. Ok, Cupid Cosby, that’s not creepy at all! I tell ya what, Cupid….I’m ready for you….shoot me and I’m ready to shoot back. I’m not going to take your free will, though. Sex Toy Story

So, I’m sure most everybody is familiar with the Toy Story movies. As most major movies have a porn version, or so I’ve heard. I can’t help but wonder what the Sex Toy Story would be like. Naturally, the owner of the toys would be an adult woman, because this would be much more fun. Now, would the training butt plugs get jealous of the new jeweled one? Would they all team up against the rechargeable vibrating one? Would a new dildo show up convinced that he’s real, because he has balls and is more flesh like? Would the silver bullets have races to see who has the fastest speed? The best of them would save the day by delivering the best orgasm, of course. Empty and Estranged

I tried to count my blessings, I knew it wouldn’t end well. I knew it wouldn’t last forever after. Yet, now as I sit in the ruins of my disaster and look out at another sunset alone, I find it impossible to let go of my pain.  Staring out the window, raindrops cling to the glass like tears on my heart and I wonder, will I always feel this way? All the mornings I wake up looking for a sign that he still loves me, then I remember it doesn’t matter. I am tired, just so tired of hurting. My bones brittle, my heart cracked, and my soul is getting dusty. I wander a path of memories falling like leaves. I know the love we had was beautiful and they applauded us. Our quiet little life on the beach is now washed out to sea. Looking in the mirror, its the demons reflected in my eyes that remind me that when I bare my soul and open my heart, that is when I will be destroyed. Time and again, I’ve lived this hell of broken hearts and pain that would kill a lesser man. I do my best to hide the hurt, put on the happy face, ignoring the shadows of doubt that haunt me, but the truth of it is…People lie, people disappoint, people hurt, and people fuel the fire that keeps my demons alive. I suppose I will always feel this way…empty and estranged. I suppose, I always have.

I love music. I’ve yet to understand anyone that doesn’t, like my mother. *rolls her eyes* I’m not super knowledgeable about music, I’ll admit. I rarely know the artist’s name, song name, or lyrics. Thank goodness for Google! However, I think that is music itself were to dedicate a song to me, it would be this one. Music is always there for us, Time After Time. No Place For You

It was the end of summer and she had decided to take a walk down to the Charcuterie for some of Peter’s famous sausages. They would be perfect with the apples she had picked that morning. As she walked along the dirt road she came across the most adorable little piglet, she scooped him up just as she approached Peter’s place. The little pig was so cute as she squealed in her face.
She smiled lovingly at her new pet, “I shall call you Wilbur, but you have to promise not to bring home any friends named Charlotte!” As she approached the door for Peter’s it dawned on her that she should take her new pet home first, “This is no place for you, Wilbur! No place at all!”

Obstacles

I’ve heard many times that the state of one’s bedroom is a direct reflection of their state of mind. *looks around in RL* Well, I’m screwed! My room is not so big, but I’ve managed to squeeze quite a lot of furniture and stuff in here. Its like an obstacle course. Well, that proves kinda true, doesn’t it? My mind is definitely an obstacle course. Its not my fault! There are squirrels EVERYWHERE!!! Not to mention shinies and I must have them all!!!
Screw the decor, that crystal skull looks perfectly normal next to the porcelain grasshopper! Yes, my TrueBlood DVD set does look awesome next to my Kim Addonizio books! Yes, I have cleaning products tucked into the wicker basket on the bottom shelf, ignore the dust, please.
Whether they’re obstacles in our rooms, on the road, or in our heads, we all encounter them sooner or later. Sometimes the way we maneuver them can alter our course so much that it changes our destination. The point remains, we will all face obstacles in our life, but by giving up we become our biggest obstacles yet.
