Rambling

I say that I don’t like people all the time, but the truth is I’ve just become rather anti-social. People actually fascinate me, but mainly the way out there types. It’s no secret that serial killers have always fascinated me and I admit, that’s rather grim. They’re not the only people that fascinate me though. Artists of all kinds are a curious lot. Actually, anyone that doesn’t live a basic life is interesting.
Profiles in SL are kinda neat that way. They provide a little peak into people’s live. I realize that I’m only seeing what people want me to see, but having been on the grid since 2006, I’ve learned how to read profiles with a grain of salt. There are certain things that are sure fire clues in some. Like the ones that swear they don’t do drama….you can bet that person is always mixed up in some drama. *laughs* You can discover all sorts of new music, by the links people provide. I’ve read some pretty funny stuff. The ones that feel it necessary to announce how bitchy or rude they are really make me tilt my head. Why do you want to tell the world you’re a negative, hateful person? When did that become a source of pride? It costs nothing to be nice. Why would anyone go out of their way to be rude and hateful to people they haven’t even met yet? I have to wonder if its some sort of self preservation tactic. I can’t imagine they are happy people. *shrugs*

Vacation Conundrum

She’d been thinking about it quite a bit and had decided for their anniversary trip, she’d wanted to go on a ski trip. She’d even gone out and bought an entire ski suit, complete with mask. When she told him about it at breakfast the next morning, he chuckled as he slid two tickets to Egypt across the table, “I was going to take you to see the great pyramids, one of the eight wonders of the world.”
She looked at him sideways, “I thought there were only  seven wonders of the world.”
He looked at her lovingly, “There were until the day you were born.”
She laughed, “Sweet talk isn’t going to get you out of this ski trip.”

As humans, we take a lot of punches throughout our lives. Yet, with each passing day, we either grow stronger or weaker. Ultimately, the choice is ours. Mentally and emotionally, I’ve definitely grown stronger. My body? Eh, not so much. I should have taken better care of it when I was younger, but I was invincible and never imagined I’d live past 30. Here I am dealing with level 8 pain daily as the weather changes. Yet, the emotional and mental tolls have been far more difficult to face.
There have been times that I’ve felt as fragile as glass, as delicate as tissue paper, and I’ve been beaten down both literally and figuratively. But each and every time, so far, I’ve gotten up. I’ve gained strength from the pain. In fact, there are times that by keeping my pain to myself and not complaining about it, by not showing it to the world, that I can borrow from it….channel it into strength. I’ve siphoned power from the pain to keep going. Perhaps I’m a bit stubborn, too. I feel like if anyone is going to genuinely take credit for me falling apart, its going to be me. So, until I’m ready to curl up with the worms for eternity, I will continue to rise like a skyscraper.

Some days I think I’d be better off hanging out with rats than most of the men I meet. I realize I’m no spring chicken in her 20s or even 30s, but the caliber of male personalities in Second Life is severely lacking. It’s no damn wonder women have thrown in the good girl towel and started going for what they need, rather than what they want. Men have been doing it for centuries, but let a woman go seek some self-gratification with a stranger and she gets herself a reputation. To hell with that, these days even the one night stand is likely to disappoint.
I’d love to see some of the men in SL put a bit more effort into courting a woman. Then again, why should they? If they wait long enough, they’ll be surrounded by thirsty sluts, hungry whores, and desperate housewives begging for it. See? I just did it myself, labeled batches of women with bad names. To hell with that! I say if you’re thirsty, get you a drink! If you’re hungry, grab a meal! If you’re desperate…uhm, yeah, maybe see a therapist? I don’t think that’s a healthy attitude to have when making decisions about sex. In the meantime, learn to take care of your own needs. We all know how. We’ve all done it and there’s certainly no harm in that…unless you nasty. So, don’t be nasty.
Yes, I am rambling, just letting my mind go where it wants. I have been up all night and I’ve thought about what to write and this is where I landed. There’s some super cute stuff out there, right now….so go shopping! I’m wishing you all a day filled with love & laughter. ♥

Hold It

Have you ever wondered why so many men hold their hands in front of their genitals? Some even go so far as to cup them….right in public, like it’s nothing. You don’t see women going about with their hands on their tits or snatch. So, what is it with men? Why do they feel the need to hold it? Are they afraid its going to fall off? Are they protecting it from some invisible force that’s going to injure them? Did Michael Jackson make it look so cool that they all want to squeeze their bits so they can sing those high notes? Surely not, that sounds terribly painful.
It’s rarely professional looking types in suits either. It’s usually those in baggy pants. Perhaps they’re wearing boxers or not wearing underwear at all and miss the support that briefs provide. Perhaps they never graduated from the phallic stage of their lives. Maybe they just like the way it feels in their hands. I don’t know, but I sure find it peculiar. I’d love to hear other theories and if any men are reading this, perhaps you can enlighten me…why do you hold it?
