I say this all the time, “I do what I want.” To be fair, I usually do just that. I’m an only child and despite the abuse, I was pretty spoiled. Over the years, I have grown up, but because I never had children I didn’t mature the way most people my age have matured. So, to sum it up I’m a brat! I know, that’s coming as quite a shock to many of you. *laughs*

Stone Cold

I’ve talked about how I protect my heart by choosing the people I know will break my heart, because I know what to expect. Here’s the thing though. It almost sounds like I don’t love these people, but I do. I just have serious trust issues. I don’t even trust my own mother and I know that no one on this planet loves me more than she does. It’s better when they leave me in the end, because I know what a mess I am. I know that I’m impossible to completely love. I don’t say that for pity or for people to argue with me. I know its an automatic inclination for people to say, “Oh, Sady, that’s not true.” Here’s the thing. It IS true. None of you really know me. You only know bits and pieces. I think its not so hard for my friends to love me, because our time together is limited. Plus, I am pretty awesome, I’ll admit that. However, romantic love? I’m not so sure that’s really in the cards for me. I let myself believe it from time to time, but I know in the end they all leave….even the good ones. So, it is from experience that I protect my heart by keeping it stone cold. I’m truly happy when someone I love finds happiness, even when its not with me, as much as it hurts. Please don’t make that face of pity or sadness, I’ll be fine. This is my life and I know it well. I’m not an unhappy person. I accept my fate and I make the most of it.

Snake Charmer

I think we all are pretty familiar with the story about the girl and the snake, right? Or at least some version of it. Sometimes she finds him on a sidewalk, sometimes its a little boy, sometimes it an adult. The gist is always the same. Just in case, I’ve provided a commonly found internet version below. The moral of the story is was tickles me, because most of us will still pick up that damn snake believing that somehow overnight we’ve become a snake charmer and we get bit every single time. I was talking to a close friend of mine the other day and we were talking about life lessons we learned as children. My friend learned by watching family members and being smart enough to figure out who was making the right choices and who was making the wrong choices. Then there’s me…I have had to learn most of my lessons the hardest way possible. I feel like I need some kind of implant to remind me, “Don’t touch the snake!”

Girl and The Snake
A young girl walking along a mountain path to her grandmother’s house heard a rustle at her feet. Looking down, she saw a snake, but before she could react, the snake spoke to her. “I am about to die,” he said. “It’s too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you.”

“No,” the girl replied. “I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. And if I pick you up, you will bite me and your bite is poisonous.”
“No, no,” the snake said. “If you help me, you will be my best friend. I will treat you differently.”
The young girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and she had to admit he was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen. Suddenly, she said, “I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness.”
She then reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and continued toward her grandmother’s house. Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side. The snake had bitten her!
“How could you do this to me?” she cried. “You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!”
“You knew what I was when you picked me up,” he hissed as he slithered away.

The Devil’s Shadow

I wish I could blog everything I’ve gotten from the event For the Love of Devil, but I simply don’t have time. So, this is my final post dedicated to the event and Andrea. As it will end on the 11th, I urge you to visit ASAP. If you’ve ever had the honor of meeting Andrea, you will know what a wonderful person she is and the beautiful energy that she radiates. Even if you’ve only friended her on Facebook, you will have seen and felt her love. She is one of the most genuinely loving people I have ever known. So, why did I call this the Devil’s Shadow? Because ironically enough, standing in Andrea’s shadow is one of the brightest places one could be. ♥

Farewell, Summer

It would seem that while spring came early in my area, summer arrived on time. Now it seems that summer might be leaving on time, as well. This is highly unusual for where I live. August and September seem to be two of the hottest months of the year. Don’t get me wrong. July and August were more than happy to carry the load this year, but the temperatures have dropped significantly this past week and according to the weather predictions, they won’t be climbing back up anytime soon. I don’t mind, because I absolutely love fall. Plus, in SL its whatever season I want it to be! I’m pleased as punch to bid farewell to summer…its about to be cardigan season!!!

Angels Aren’t That Innocent

Who decided that all angels are innocent. When my friend Tracy claims to be an angel we always laugh, because she’s about as far from the normal idea of an angel as she can get. However, wasn’t Lucifer an angel? Surely if angels are real, he’s not the only fallen one there ever was. What about the angels on Supernatural? For those that have seen the show, we all know those angels are NOT innocent…far from it, in fact. Furthermore, if we have so called guardian angels, how could they possibly be innocent after the things we’ve exposed them to, forcing them to facepalm and save us from ourselves constantly. I’m pretty sure that angels aren’t that innocent at all and if I have any…they are surely exhausted!

Tired

It’s been a very long and stressful week, I’m ready to climb into bed with the remote and relax! I’m so tired! My brain is kinda dead at the moment so I don’t have anything super deep to say. Days of Summer

As I’ve mentioned recently in two previous posts, Soaking Up The Sun and Vacation, I love swimwear in Second Life. I’m pretty sure I also mentioned what a huge fan I am of Rebel Hope’s bikinis and as if answering a prayer she released TWO in the mainstore. I was so excited I couldn’t wait to run out and pose on one of my favorite beach destinations on the grid, Baja Sands which is part of Baja Norte. They have several beach themed sims and for a small group fee, you can rez whatever you like, just pick up after yourself.  Its a beautiful spot to lounge around in your swimwear, hang out with friends, or just be vane and shoot pictures of your sexy pixels like I did.
The days of Summer are upon most of us (Sorry to those South of the equator, you can rub it in later when we’re all melting from the heat.) and whether you enjoy the sun in RL or just in SL like me, I highly recommend getting out there and exploring some of the gorgeous beach sims on the grid.

Have Some Fun

Anyone that’s friends with me on Facebook could know what sort of hijinx I got into last night. To be honest, circumstances in RL are a bit peculiar for me at the moment. So, I most certainly did wake & bake. Its going to be a relaxed, fun day for me, because this afternoon I’ll be hosting two older ladies coming off of a roadtrip. You see, my mother and my uncle’s widow will be coming back from my Aunt’s funeral this afternoon. My mother hasn’t stopped crying since the day before Easter when he sister passed away. Awww, don’t be too sad. Don’t celebrate or anything, but…my aunt lived a very full life. She traveled the world…as recently as two years ago…she was in London. Apparently my uncle wanted fish n chips every day. She was the mother of three pretty impressive kids, even if the one in Africa is a waste of space. (story for another day)
She’s been a grandmother for more than 20 years. In fact, she was a great grandmother. She lived in the mountains, bears literally climbed around on her house, but never once hurt them nor did they find any mutilated deer, regardless of how many hung about her house waiting for food. Think of a religious, slightly backwoods Disney film…*nods*
So, see? She had a pretty decent life. All in all, I’d say it was pretty successful.
With all of that said, I am just wanting to have some fun before my elders arrive home-ish from their 9hr-one way, crappiest reason ever, roadtrip. I know I need to have some food ready, but that’s about 10hrs from now…so in the meantime….*eyes her magic cookie*…thank goodness, Eli didn’t find it!
