Well, here it is, officially Halloween. Now the jack o lanterns will begin to rot, but all the other decor can carry over into the rest of the year in one way or another. I mean, there’s plenty of reasons to use the dark macabre stuff…depending on what styles you like. I personally love mixing the unexpected with the “norm” to create something surprising. Like a romantic dinner for two in an overgrown abandoned building. *grins*
So, with all the hubbub about Halloween and so many countries believing this is strictly a United States thing, I wanted to do a little digging into the history of it all. Turns out we can thank the Irish, the Canadians, and Hollywood for the whole idea of Trick or Treating that we all know today. Rather than trying to explain this all myself, I’ve attached a short five minute video that explains it far better than I can. Enjoy!!

It’s no secret that I love October. Between my birthday and Halloween, how could I not? Even if you’re not into the dark, bloody, scary side of Halloween, there are all sorts of cute bits out there to help you get in the mood. Plus its the perfect time of year to break out colors you might not otherwise wear, like purple and black…or orange…or just go a teensy bit goth. This is the perfect time to experiment with your look, cuz if you hate it or other people don’t react well, you can just say its a costume, right? There’s so much fun stuff out there right now, I can’t imagine not shopping during October. Let’s face it, most of us don’t need an excuse to shop, but having even more reasons than usual doesn’t hurt either. *winks* Today is super busy for me, so I’m not writing a ton. I want to say right up front that I am not an official Lelutka Blogger, so all the heads I have purchased myself, with the exception of two that were bought for me, by my beautiful sisters, Kess and Sassy. However, like many people on the grid I will use whatever resources I can to acquire things as quickly as possible. Thus, I acquired the new Gaia head and played with it straight away. To my immediate surprise, I discovered that this head came with THREE sets of ears. There’s the basic human ears that are already attached to the head. There are the standard elf ears that have become a fixture with the new Evo X line. However, the big surprise was that there was fox ears, too!!! WHAT?!?!? Now, I love me some cats and I am quite feline in nature. However, I rarely go full out neko anymore. These ears are quite tempting, but at my age…well, I just feel like they are a bit costumey for me. Yes, I made up a word. With that said, I have seen soooo many girls wearing these and they are sooo damn cute!! I’m not even sure that this head’s base features work for my personal look and preferences, but this head is definitely a game changer. If you are looking for a new look, something that isn’t quite like everyone else…I recommend that you at least demo this adorable new head. Play with it and experiment with different skins, cuz we all know that a skin can change everything. For instance, I’m wearing the new Sora skin from Glam Affair in this photo, but when I tried on some other skins it was a completely new look from this one. This also inspired me to go have a look at the Lelutka store for which heads I don’t own. What I discovered (yes, I’m slow) is that they have updated quite a few of their previous heads to Evo X. So, the next time you see me, I’ll be wearing Erin Evo X and it will look a lot more like Sady than this one. The moral of the story is…if this isn’t the head for you, try looking at some of the updated heads. You just don’t know what you might find until you try it out. This is the cheapest plastic surgery on the planet, so why not play with it and have some fun!?!?

I’ve been soo crazy busy lately that I’m just now getting around to blogging this adorable set from Hideki that you can grab at TLC for a few more days. It closes on the 10th, after that you’ll have to check his mainstore. This set is so cute and even my photo doesn’t do it justice. However, I couldn’t help but want to make a man cave that the girl took over….so here it is with lots of pink pieces from one of Bamse’s new sets to be found at the October round of Arcade. What better way to enjoy this room than relaxing in a comfy shirt from Vinyl, paired with some super cute sweats? A girl can watch just about any scary movie with her trusted pup beside her, right? And thanks to some pieces from Kraftwork’s new set (also at the Arcade), I was able to set the tone of horror movie night. So, I’m all about horror films in October…and honestly, I’m so obsessed with this scene, I just wanna crawl directly into it and cozy up for the night.

It’s my favorite time of the year, not only is my birthday on the 6th, but my favorite holiday is on the 31st. I realize its not a worldwide holiday and it must seem absolutely bonkers to areas that do not celebrate Halloween or Hallows Eve. However, I absolutely love all the cutesy pumpkins and ghosties. This week has totally gotten away from me. Between being sick and trying to keep up with real life, I’m scrambling today to get all caught up and sorted so I can enjoy a couple of days semi-off over the weekend, before throwing myself right back into the rat race next week. For now, I’m going type up this short excuse for a blog post, show off my latest decor shot, and get this all published so I can focus on the next thing. I really wanted to show off these dogs, cuz first off….hello? Corgis!!! Secondly, look at their lil butts!!! You have to see them in person, cuz they just wiggle and it makes me so happy. You gotta see it. I tried my best to show all the sides, cuz they’re so cute. Ends up looking like Momma is having a meeting…thus the title of this blog which has absolutely nothing to do with what I’m writing, cuz I’m just writing whatever pours out my fingers and not really thinking much about it. LOL! And on that note, I’ll wrap it up and call it done!

I find myself doing a lot of decorating lately. Partially cuz I’ve been bouncing around the Blake until I found the right spot. I do think I’m there now and I have no plans to move again for a very long time. With that said, I forgot how much I love decor. Yes, it takes me longer to accomplish a scene I’m happy with, but in the end I get this therapeutic calm from doing it. On a fluke, I applied to The Loft and to my amazement I was accepted! Now you can expect to see more decor posts from me going forward. I’ll never abandon fashion. I couldn’t. I’d rather stop blogging than do that, but I’ve got a new found enthusiasm for decor and lots of new ideas to bring to my blog.
