Feet on the Ground

Sometimes with all the craziness that’s going on around me, I just need to look down and remember to keep my feet on the ground. I know it sounds silly, but as I practice mindfulness sometimes it helps to have that visual. Just to see this is where I am right now. I’m not in the past where things are over and done. I’m not in a future that I cannot see or accurately predict. I am right here, right now, and I need to focus on just that.

The Cafe

A little over a week ago, I started this morning routine of sitting at the cafe working on my laptop while I check blogs, publish a post, read emails, and process my morning to do list for the various jobs I have. Oh, I’m not leaving my house, this is all done in Second Life and the cafe is Burrow Coffee Co. It’s a great place to people watch, too. There’s not a ton of traffic, but the people that wander in are interesting to say the least. Most are friendly enough without being intrusive. The regulars nod to one another and go on with their routine of waking up. I’m fortunate enough to know the owner, Harlow Heslop, and she’s been so kind to let me have my own little area to set up each morning. So, if you’re ever in the mood for a place to chill, listen to music, and people watch, I  hope you’ll check it out.

Stay Safe

I haven’t talked about the Corona Virus on my blog much, because I feel like everyone is dealing with it across the globe in a variety of ways. I can’t speak for people in other countries or even in other parts of my own. What I see locally scares me to absolutely no end. People in my neck of the woods are carrying on as if nothing has happened. While a few businesses have closed down and schools have shut their doors, the bulk of my area is carrying on as if nothing has happened. Some people are even quite belligerent in their protests of the places that have closed. I have no doubt that the virus will wash over this area like a tsunami within a week and THAT scares the crap out of me. I just want everyone to stay safe and do their part in reducing the curve.

Making Room for Pizza

They had moved to the big city with dreams of an exciting nightlife. No one had ever anticipated being locked down over a pandemic. These two had been friends their entire lives and had been through all sorts of heart aches, but nothing had compared to this.

As Sady finished off another donut, she rubbed her tummy and sighed, “Thank God workout clothes are stretchy!”

Stef lifted her leg to let another one rip across the room, “OMG! Right!?!?”

Sady scrunched her nose and laughed, “I should try that, maybe I’d have room for more pizza!”

Stef laughed, “You weren’t supposed to hear that!”

Sady gave her a look, “I heard it, smelled it, and watched you lift your leg like a dog to let it out!”

It was right then, that their little Yorkie, Puddin, let out an outrageously disgusting little fart of her own. I guess she’s making room for pizza, too.

Rearranging

Okay, so the whole social distancing thing is something I’ve been practicing for many years. However, during this time, I have decided that its time for me to rearrange my furniture. My bedroom in rl is rather odd, so there’s really only two walls my bed can be on, but its been on the wall between my windows for years. It’s time to sling it around to the other wall, plus I’ve taken this time to do some spring cleaning…getting rid of things and acquiring new things. *giggles* It’s called recycling! Wait…no, I guess its more like replacing…DON’T JUDGE ME! Anyway, I thought that rearranging furniture would be a great activity for people in RL during this time of rearranging our lives.

I just want to take a minute to tell you about my dear friend and neighbor, Miss Stefania Giano. I call her SteffyCakes, Schmeff, and S3, among other things. You can call her Steff. *giggles* She is an amazing, intelligent mother of two in real life and in Second Life, she’s an incredible blogger, not to mention she works for some pretty ilustrious events …*cough* FaMESHed…*cough*…Uber…*cough*….ANDDDDD she’s my neighbor!!! Like she lives right next door!!! She is so much fun to be around and she can be a complete nutter…though I’m not sure I’m supposed to tell people that. Hey, Watch!

It just so happened after I shot this picture, some of my lovely friends invited me to come hang out at The Bay (where I sometimes host). Well, I was already dressed for it, so why not, right? Upon landing they were quick to inform me that I looked like BayWatch reloaded…*giggles* I have to admit, that was kinda the look I was going for…I even pumped up the tatas for this shot. I even laughed when I did it, because it was more like, “Hey, Watch!” than BayWatch.  Anyway, we’ve got gorgeous earrings from Triggered paired with a swimsuit from Boosh, both can be found at the current round of Belle. Add in this gorgeous windblown hair from Wasabi that’s over at Bloom and I’m ready for the beach!
