Upon the Stars

She was told that whatever you’re thinking and feeling when the clock strikes midnight, bringing in the new year, is what you will be thinking about and feeling for the majority of the upcoming year. She wanted to feel at peace. She wanted to feel loved. She wanted to be warm and filled with hope. She knew the perfect spot for her hope filled wishes. She grabbed her champagne and sat upon the rocks, listening to the sea rush upon the rocks. She looked to the sky and began wishing upon the stars.

Make it so

I survived Christmas and on that day, we tore down the decorations as that has become our tradition. We’re super excited to put up the decorations on Thanksgiving weekend, but the time Christmas rolls around we are completely over all the red and green decor. The lovely Santas are packed away and all the ornaments that survived are stuffed back into boxes. It is quite an adventure for the animals. This also comes with a new arrangement for our living room. We like to start the new year with a fresh look and feel to the main room.
Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve and I am definitely ready for the New Year as this will be the first year in many that I am approaching a brand new year with a great attitude. I’m filled with hope. I am positive that 2020 is going to be a better year, because I am determined to make it so.

I’ve had this scene set up for this picture for about a week, I finally got the girls pinned down. Then it only took them three hours to finally get pose ready. Lo & behold, we take the picture and now Stef moves quickly. She finishes editing and posts hers straight away. You can see her version here, she did such an amazing job! It took me a bit longer as I’m still learning photoshop, but I’m finally happy with the result.
We genuinely had a blast, but I’m pretty sure I’m the only one in this photo wearing the outfit that I actually picked out for NYE. *laughs* These girls keep me in stitches and I can’t think of a better way to bring in the New Year than laughing with my squad. So, to everyone celebrating the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020, I raise a glass. Happy New Year to you all and I sincerely hope that this year brings us all the love and laughter  we all desire. ♥

Bittersweet Memories

As she hung the last of the new ornaments on the tree, she closed her eyes and got lost in her memories. She remembered their first Christmas together and all the traditions they started that year. It had been years since she could even bring herself to decorate for the holiday again, much less get rid of the ornaments that proclaimed their first Christmas and every year after that. He has a new family now. He will be starting new traditions and she is left with bittersweet memories.
