We all have blind spots

We all know some one that only hears what they want to hear, sees what they want to see. I believe that’s more prevalent in Second Life than anywhere else. Like orange juice concentrate, the misplaced loyalties on the grid run rampant. People being “loyal” to false friends, closing their eyes to the truth and choosing to turn their eyes elsewhere. I’m not quite sure what people are afraid of, but feeding someone’s ego with lies is not doing anyone any favors. The thing is that when we lie to those that are supposedly close to us, we lie to ourselves, as well. We have to ask ourselves if that’s what we would want if it was us on the other side of the blindness…the deafness. By turning the blind eye, the deaf ear…are we doing them a favor? Or are we so afraid of the truth that the lie is more comforting? What are our motives for such a level of dishonesty, especially if we really are completely aware of the truth?

So, I’m back to writing and the ramblings of my mind are bound to be weirder than ever, but I’ve decided to restrict myself less. A new friend reminded me that I started this blog as an outlet for me. Sure, I absolutely love showing off my favorite designers and will always do that, but the words? I can’t censor myself and get therapeutic value from it, now can I? *laughs* Consider this your warning….lol.

I need a condom for my heart

Anytime I see condoms tucked into clothing, be it underwear or thigh high boots, I think of Pretty Woman, when Julia Roberts pulls out the assortment of condoms and proclaims that she’s a safety girl. So, condoms protect our genitals from most things…too bad there’s not a condom for our hearts. It would be nice to trust what’s in front of you without getting slapped in the face with a brick wall of pain only days into dating someone, right? I mean, I personally think that I’m pretty guarded. I’ve been successfully single now for two years. I open myself up to the possibility of something good for a few days and where did it get me? You guessed it…slapped in the face with the harsh realities of this cruel grid. I’m reminded once again that I’m not good enough. You’d think by now, I’d get it…and for the past two years I did. Technically, I haven’t broken that stride, because anything that doesn’t last more than a week does not make a relationship. It simply makes one vulnerable enough to get hurt. Thanks, Life, you did it again.
Please don’t comment with some hippy dippy love shit about how I’m worthy, blah blah blah…I truly appreciate the efforts, but they are wasted on me. My life has more than proven that I’m not those lovely things that make one a lovable partner. Lucky for me, I make a great friend and I also have some pretty epic ones. So, all is not lost. ♥

I’ve been letting music speak for me the last few months. I haven’t had it in me to write about what’s going on with me or the world around me. I suppose it is a form of writer’s block, but you’d have to be an actual writer to get that, wouldn’t you? I’m just a nobody that rambles on about whatever nonsense tumbles around in my head when I set my fingers to the keys. I don’t have anything profound to say. I don’t really have that interesting of a life. Sometimes I make people laugh and for that I am grateful, but lately laughter hasn’t been a huge part of my life.
All I really want to say today…well, honestly, I’d like to ask that you all please be careful with the people you encounter in this world. You cannot begin to truly know what’s going on beneath the surface. You cannot know how close to the edge someone is…so for the love of humanity think twice before you’re careless with someone’s heart or feelings. The edge is so close for some that it would merely take one bad thing on a bad day to push them right over…and then Poof.
