The Outlaw

She knew the moment she saw him walk into the bar that she wanted him. He looked wild and untamed. He was an outlaw, it was written in the rugged lines carved into his tanned skin. His tattoos was old and some of them were clearly done behind bars. This was not love at first sight. No, this was a raw savage lust. She’d never known such a need to feel someone else’s skin pressed to hers before. She knew his type and she knew he’d want something simple like whiskey or whatever beer was on tap. She place both in front of him and smiled, “First round is on the house.”
By the end of the night, he was ready to follow her home and she was ready to let him. That was weeks ago, now they had a routine. He would call her whenever he rolled into town to see if she was busy. If she wasn’t busy, he would drop in for the night. Their passion was raw and unbridled. Their affair only lasted the summer, but the urgency with which they made love would be forever etched into her memory.

Whenever he called, she anxiously waited on the balcony until she saw him ride up on his bike.

Learning New Things

I recently wrote a post about a thread I had seen on Facebook about Flickr favs titled, “What are you complaining about?” I didn’t remember who had originally posted it when I wrote about it. It turns out that the person that posted it is someone I admire and adore. She got in my box to explain why she had posed the question and then went on to explain why it bothered her. She said that people are using bots to increase favs and traffic on Flickr. That was something I didn’t know. I had heard that people could hire someone to add favs, but I found that to be ridiculous. Turns out my friend said that she prefers to feel as though she deserves those favs and not to have earned them from some bot that can’t even look at the photo. I have to agree with her there. I had no idea people were using alts. This really bothered me, because I feared that people might think I was using a bot since I have some pretty standard compliments with cute emojis. I have to admit I was quite relieved when she explained that no one would think that of me, as I don’t paste those comments on every photo I fav nor do I fav every photo I see. *whew*

I love that she approached me to explain, because I learned something new. I am always open to understanding the other side of things. In fact, I prefer to know why people do the things they do. So a special thank you to her for enlightening me and not being upset about my post. ♥

There sure are a lot of imitations going around the grid these days. I’m not pointing fingers at anyone in particular, but whether you’re a designer or photographer or blogger….whatever your creative outlet is….know that you cannot stop them from taking your ideas and trying to make them their own. It happens to the best of us. Keep your chins up and keep doing you. Besides, God don’t like ugly and karma is a bitch, between the two…I trust that thieves will suffer their own personal fate.

What are you complaining about?

I saw something rather bizarre on Facebook the other day. It was an entire thread about a few people who have been liking lots of photos on Flickr lately. The thread started with a question, but what followed was what fascinated and confused me. People claiming that they blocked the person for liking so many of their photos. Uhm, correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t we put our photos on Flickr to be seen and hopefully liked enough to make clicking that little star worth someone’s time? There were several other comments that made me chuckle and tilt my head to the side like a confused dog.

One person said that this person had too much time on their hands. Well, the same could be said about those complaining about so many Flickr favs, couldn’t it? I mean, isn’t that just a complete waste of time? Someone else said that the people faving so much were trying to gather favs themselves. That might be true, but it certainly doesn’t mean you must do so.

From there, someone mentioned people that copy/paste the same compliments over and over again. This is one statement that I can understand both sides of, because I am one of those people. Why? Despite the wordiness of my blog, I don’t always have eloquent words or time to explain all the amazing components that I find in a photo on Flickr. I have several words with cute emojis that I use, because different photos warrant a different type of compliment. However, I assure you that I do not copy/paste these compliments all willy nilly. I only paste them if I believe it, just like I don’t invite photos to my Bringing SLexy Back group if I don’t find the photo to be quite sexy.

I think the bigger question should be, “Why are you all complaining about something so many others are genuinely grateful for?” I personally am grateful that anyone takes the time to like or view anything of mine on any platform. Perhaps today, we could all just take a moment and give thanks for some of our blessings.

That 70’s Look

This was such a fun scene for me to set up. While I know this will truly date myself, its not like I try to hide my age. One of the reasons this was so much fun was that I was able to dig into my childhood memories. Afterall, I grew up in the 70s and we moved around a lot. Finding pieces to build around a fondue set really took me back, because my mom was so excited when she got her first fondue pot that I think we had it twice a week for a couple of months. I don’t have any deep inspirational words of wisdom or a funny story today, just a smile on my face as I remember some of the happier times from my past.

Why Do Men….

Why do men want women’s panties? I understand this topic has nothing to do with this super sweet outfit, but I’m seriously confused about this topic. We see it in movies all the time, men sniffing panties. If I didn’t know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there are vending machines for used panties in some countries, I might just think that it was just one of those silly exaggerated Hollywood things, like how there’s always one survivor in a horror movie, unless its one of Rob Zombie’s. (God, I love him!) Why would anyone want to sniff underwear? I’d love to have someone explain that to me. I understand wanting something that smells like someone you love. I’ve slipped boyfriend’s shirts over pillows, but panties? GROSS! You don’t see women running around wanting to sniff men’s drawers. You know why? Cuz ball sweat…*shudders*
