Sisterhood of the Magical Leggings

Once upon a time on a grid not so far away lived a beautiful seamstress who created magical designs that caused a great stir among the many mesh bodied avatars roaming the land. Her beautiful clothes were known across the land for their mysterious powers. In fact, there are legends about her yoga pants of well…not THAT long ago, but not very recent either. It has even been said that those yoga pants were known to lure lovers to their doom! There have been many mystical and magical designs released since the gravity defying yoga pants, but none created quite the stir until one fated day in mid December there came to be…the Magical Leggings! Naturally, the ever humble Blueberry simply named them Cake Leggings, but it wasn’t long before women near and far were coming together as a Sisterhood of the Magical Leggings.

sisterhood2

You see, women come in all shapes and sizes and thank goodness for that. However, because of the various shapes, not to mention mesh body types, not everything looks good on everyone. Yet, these leggings? They looked amazing on every woman! No matter how bootylicious or cutey booty they were…these “Cake Leggings” made all their asses absolutely delicious. So, it seems our fair maiden knew precisely what she’d created when she named them after cake…for who doesn’t love a nice slice of cake?

sisterhood3

These leggings were so magical that women didn’t shy away from one another when they encountered each other wearing them. Instead, they gathered in groups, they formed a Sisterhood and rejoiced! For they recognized the greatness of the leggings, and each wore them with pride. Each woman defining her own individual style while sharing their love for the Cake Leggings and together they paraded their perfect taut butts across the grid….leaving a trail of drool…and pup tents *winks*…wherever they traveled.

sisterhood1

As if the leggings weren’t enough…don’t you know that juicy little Blueberry minx turned around and cooked up some Cupcake boots that came with TWO heels types? Sharp and Thick! Naturally, the went perfectly with the leggings and happy holidays was had by all, because even the people that weren’t wearing them were surely enjoying the view of those who were.

Leaving it Behind

“It was a life I didn’t want to leave behind. It was a life I didn’t want to forget.”
Maggie Stiefvater, Linger

Moving on is sometimes the absolute hardest thing to do. Leaving people, places, pets, things, habits…we get attached and for me it always rips at my soul. Sometimes we do the leaving, sometimes we’re the ones being left…but both scenarios can be equally heartbreaking. As 2016 is coming to a close, there are a lot of things I’m walking away from and I refuse to keep looking back. It has been a year of great loss, shock, change, and dismay. I’m ready to leave it all behind, especially the negative emotions that accompanied it. I’ve packed my bags with all the good stuff and to the rest, I bid you farewell.

I’ve shed more than my share of tears for loss this past year. I’ve been blessed with some amazing people in this incredible virtual world. While I’ve had to walk away from quite a few and some walked away from me, the number of truly incredible people that have become such an integral part of my Second Life is astounding. I cannot remember having so many friends in SL that I cannot possibly keep up with everything they’re doing as well as my own life. I love it, though.

leaving-it-behind1

As I march forward into the new year, I plan to do my best at keeping up with those that want to be an active part of my life. I plan to embrace what’s left of my real life and to truly make my mark. Determination and desire, those are my words as I look forward.
And as I look back one final time to all that I’m leaving behind…well, I’m shedding my last tears. I know that 2017 will have its share of heartaches, but I have a feeling that there’s an abundance of blessings waiting and I’m hoping to share them all with my friends and family.

Weather the Storm

Its a pretty standard start to a conversation, “How are you?”
Depending on who is asking, I might give the obligatory and polite response, “I’m fine/ok/alright.” On occasion, I’ll be honest and sometimes I’m not ok/fine/alright. This happened to me today. My response was, “eh…battling my inner demons.” I was then asked what inner demons were, which struck me odd, as no one had ever asked me that before. It was just something people always understood and if they didn’t, they pretended to. I was desperate for an answer, as I didn’t want to sound rude or condescending. I grasped for the quickest thing I could think of and replied, ” like depression and voices and negative feelings and stuff.” I know that wasn’t a very accurate description, but I wasn’t really in the mood to spell it all out, as I’m the type that tends to withdraw and emotionally disconnect when the demons come calling.
I’ve been battling these demons for most of my life and over the years, they’ve gotten much stronger and much more difficult to fight. Most of the time, I just want to sleep, surrender to them in my dreams in the hopes that they will leave me alone upon waking. Naturally this does not always work. Sometimes, I think they simply arm themselves with more ammunition while I sleep. I know what’s happening. I know its temporary. I know it will pass. I, also, know that there’s nothing anyone can do to help. They are my demons and despite the many efforts made over the years by some pretty amazing people…those demons will never cease to haunt me. They are mine and they are with me always. All, I can do is weather the storm and wait for the sun to return to my dark little world. Sometimes, its only a matter of hours…sometimes, its days…and on a few occasions it has been weeks. I just have to ride it out and put on as brave a face as I can muster. Occasionally, one or two friends will break through and actually get me to open up about some of what’s going on. While, it usually helps me to talk about my feelings…discussing my demons is a completely different story.

weather-the-storm

This has been a rough year and as the year comes to a close, my demons have arrived prepared for a battle that I simply do not have the energy to fight. The light that is my essence will eventually find its way back to the surface and force the demons back the dark corners of my mind where they will reside until something else triggers their release.
I’v chosen to share this here, because that’s where I’m at right now. I’m not suicidal. I know this routine all too well. However, there are those that don’t. So, I urge you to reach out and check on each other. Not everyone is having a joyous holiday. Don’t worry about me. I’m weathering this storm as I have and will again, but please take care of each other. It really does make a difference to know people care.

I didn’t break out anything new and special for this photo. the shorts I’ve had almost a year, at least. No idea how long I’ve had the tee. The cardigan is fairly recent and I love it. I think the hair is the newest and its a lot like how I used to wear my rl hair years ago. So, here’s a little reminder not to worry so much about always buying the newest latest at all the events. We’ve got lots of amazing pieces in our inventory from months ago…give it a go, the next time you’re running low on lindens and waiting for more, or waiting for an event…have a look at some of those classic pieces in your inventory and create a whole new look.

Christmas Eve

So, its Christmas Eve…whether you celebrate the holiday or not, I surely hope that you’re having a blessed day. This time of year seems to bring out the best or worst in people. For me, I think it tends to soften some of my edges a bit. People tend to be more generous, not just monetarily, but with their love, their time, and their energy. I’m never quite sure if its the holidays or the anticipation of the biggest party of the year, New Year’s Eve! Either way, I love it and I hope that you’re embracing it as well.

I’ll be in the kitchen cooking up the side dishes that I forgot I was responsible for yesterday. I’ve got tons of cooking ahead of me…cooking enough for 10 people, but only feeding three. *giggles* Meanwhile, Bueno is giving away this awesome Christmas theme jacket as a group gift. Speaking of group gifts, the earrings..yeah, I’ve had a few glasses….okay, bottles of wine…earrings…yes, super cute HUD driven earrings from Codex as a group gift, too! So many gifts! Hot Chocolate

When it comes to hot chocolate, I’m a bit of a snob. I can’t stand that powdered stuff you mix with hot water. The only thing I can do with the powder hot cocoa mix is add it to coffee and that’s actually pretty good. However, when it comes to actual hot chocolate…I want it made with milk and I want it to taste like liquid chocolate heaven. Oddly enough, my absolute favorite hot chocolate is the salted caramel hot chocolate at Dunkin Donuts. My second favorite is from Starbucks. Of course, nothing beats making it at home, but lets face it…getting that hot steaming cup of hot chocolate on the go in the middle of your day is the best!

hot-chocolate

Yes, its cold out and I’m craving hot chocolate and I’ve got this adorable little hot chocolate stand by my frozen lake…so yeah, you get to read about. You’re welcome. Yes, I know, you probably want hot chocolate now, too. You’re welcome for that, too. I think I’ll have some, too. No matter what sort of plans you have for this holiday weekend, be safe and stay positive. Its almost over. *giggles*
Plus, this outfit from Blueberry is as magical as her coat, because I can be as sexy as I wannabe and not get cold while I skate my sassy little tail around my frozen lake. And thanks to the wonderful creators at Cynful, I can wear my heart around my neck rather than on my sleeve!

Do You Believe in Shame?

My last post was about a popular song by Duran Duran that I never liked until I heard a more sensual, less pop cover of it. A dear friend of mine that I met in SL way back in 2006 sent me a cover of one of Duran Duran’s lesser known songs and I have to say that I’m equally in love with this song. So, the song is: Do You Believe in Shame
I doubt I ever would have heard this song if she’d not sent me the link, because well, let’s face it. If I didn’t like the main stream stuff from Duran Duran, its not likely I would have ever sought out their other songs, much less a cover. This is just another thing I love about SL, how the oddest of circumstances will bring people together. You see, it was her love for Duran Duran that brought her to SL in the first place. I guess I’ll be grateful to the band for that and their songs that are song by other people…sorry, Stace.

So, Tres Chic is open and filled with goodness and tis the eve of Shiny Shabby…so get those lindens ready, cuz I’ve had a peak at both and you’re going to NEED stuff! Also, check out Neon Tepee for a great place to take pictures. There’s no rezzing, so you’ll have to use their funiture or wear a posing hud, but its beautifully decorated. Even if you don’t want to take photos, its a nice little hangout spot and whenever I’ve been there the place has been empty. It is adult…so…be prepared for some nudity…*winks*

Bad Girl

So, I wanted a quote about a bad girl being good or vice versa. I wanted a quote to epitomize the balance. In my search, I stumbled upon this:

I don’t want to be ‘Halsey: America’s Sweetheart,’ or ‘Halsey: Bad Girl.’ If you can sum up my career in a clickbait headline, I’ve done something wrong. Halsey

I love this for so many reasons. One of the reasons, really isn’t mine to tell, let me just say I’m feeling a great sense of pride on behalf of a good friend. The other is because this amazing young woman has summed it up perfectly. I’m not a famous anything…and well, I have no career, but I love what she’s saying here. I don’t want to be known as Sady the good girl (yeah, I know…not too many would believe that anyway), but I don’t want to be labeled a bad person or total bitch either. There are many sides to me. I often make jokes that some people are bi-polar and I’m more like quad-polar. I like to thing that I’m as multi-faceted as a quality diamond and have more layers than an onion. I believe I’ve achieved that and I think those that know me well would probably agree. I don’t take pride in much, because I’m extremely hard on myself. My friends fuss at me for this all the time, but if there’s one thing I will take pride in? I’m definitely not a book properly judged by my cover.

bad-girl1

I’m true to myself. That is one thing I can say for certain. Yes, there are times that I falter and fall flat on my face, but you will always see me get back up…even if I have to crawl around for a good long while first. Good or bad…above all? I am strong.

Going Out to Stay In

I love books. Not just reading them, but having them. I love the way they look on my shelves. I love the way they smell. Bookstores smell so good to me and a library? Oh that’s just heaven. Its the smell of books having been on their own adventures, not just the ones they hold inside. There have been times when I would just spend hours curled up with a book and not even realize how much time had passed while I was drudging through a swamp with a young girl looking for her mother…or hiking snowy hills as a woman is being rescued from impending doom. I’ve never been one for Fantasy books, but I’ve certainly read some fantastic ones.

day-out1

I especially shopping for new books. I tried ordering them online and the electronic eReaders, but there’s nothing quite like holding that book in your hands…the feel of the paper on your fingers, the smell of it…the frantic search for your bookmark (dog eared pages are a huge NO). It’s been a while since I’ve been on such an outing, because I haven’t done a whole lot of reading lately. However, there’s no season like winter for snuggling up with some hot cocoa, some cozy lounge-wear, and a good book! Fortunately, I have several books on my shelf that are long overdue for my attention. So, today I don’t need to go out to stay in.

When I was putting this outfit together I thought about how its seems most like something I’d wear in real life to run my errands. Henley tops are just so comfortable and just like this new one Cynful, they can make the cleavage look mighty inviting. *giggles* Of course, in my case that means a place to catch crumbs or my Aunt Brenda used to call it…the good ole boobie trap! Either way, if you want something chill and just to not be so over the top all the time…to just relax and hang out with friends while still looking  top notch, this Drop Down Top fits perfectly with the Anyday Skinny Jeans, both from Cynful so you know you can mix and match those colors perfectly. I’m personally a sucker for ombres and even those are matching up really well. Whatever you errands, stay safe, stay warm, and stay cozy! ♥

The Magnificant Coat

Once upon a time there was a virtual girl named Sady and she developed a shopping addiction. Then one fateful cold winter day, she got word (via Facebook, Flickr, Inworld…who knows?) that one of her favorite stores was releasing a new winter coat. She was so excited she ran right down to the store, bravely fought her way through the mobs of women clambering for the new goods, and managed to grab one for herself. She raced home and stripped off her clothes so she could revel in her new coat! Little did she know she would be stepping out into the virtual frozen tundra  of Ironwood Hills.

come-warm-me-up2

Fearlessly, she ventured out into the frozen evening, but alas the coat was so magnificent it kept her warm despite the fact that she was only wearing a matching silk bra and panties set. Besides, she had a hat and everyone knows you lose most of your body heat through your head, right? She knew this was a place for photographs and like a good little Victoria Secrets wanna be…she started posing! She barely blinked when the blinged out flexi troll stepped into her shot. She just derendered him and bid that Felicia farewell.

come-warm-me-up3

So, let that be a lesson to you all, boys and girls, don’t let a troll or a mob of women stand in the way of your happiness. You deserve that coat just as much as anyone else and you deserve to show it off!

Dear, Venison

I don’t think its a big secret that I’m a bit twisted. I’m the one that makes the “too soon” jokes and the inappropriate jokes. I wear tags that offend the sensitive and have even had display names that got me kicked out of a few PG places. (Thanks, Grace!) I’ve gotten fussed at by more than one club host/owner/boss about my behavior or my language. I make no apologies for who I am except that I do try (for the most part) to respect the rules.

With that said, my friend Grace and I, love love love to tease three of our friends (Posh, Ara, and Tracy) on Facebook whenever they post pictures and videos of cute little animals like pigs and goats. I suppose you could say we troll them, but only in the cutest of ways, really! You see, Grace and I…well, we see pigs…we make bacon jokes…and so it goes with any animal that is deemed edible. So, I could not resist writing up a little post about delicious venison and for those that don’t know…venison is deer meat.

oh-deer3

My dear friend, Kess Crystal, did an epic post the other day called Reindeer Aren’t Just for Christmas and I wanted to reply with a blog post of my own. You’re absolutely right, Kess…they’re also for dinner! *giggles*

The stuff is pretty self explanatory, not going into it a great deal. I just really wanted to do this picture from the moment I saw this headpiece from Azoury and when Kess did her reindeer post…I couldn’t resist.
