This line, from one of my all time favorite songs really hit home this morning when I woke from dreaming about friends from Second Life. This isn’t all that abnormal, I’ve often dreamed about my friends from this virtual land, but last night’s dream was quite surreal and I woke up thinking how easily that dream could be made into a virtual reality. Yes, another post about why I love Second Life, because here we can do and be just about anything we want…even lost in a daydream. Don’t ever allow yourself to be bored in Second Life, go make a dream come true. ❤

Summer Colds Suck

“How are you feeling?” they all ask.

I want to tell them that I feel like road kill or that it feels like death just took a shit on my head. I want to be dramatic and cry out, “I’M DYING!” Okay, maybe I did say those things to a few of my closest friends, but c’mon let’s face it….SUMMER COLDS SUCK! I can deal with a lot things, but summer colds are the absolute worst. Of course, that’s because that’s what I’m suffering from right now. Naturally, I found a way to milk my miserable status by showing you just how sick I am. Even my avatar is sick…SEE?

Controversy

A strong spirit transcends rules. ~Prince

How true it is…I just wrote yesterday about “differentness” and how I struggled to find my place in the world after we quit moving. Prince played such a huge role in my road of self discovery. I’ll share one quick story and then get on with the picture and credits, because I’m just very sad today. We lost such an amazing talent and truly magnificent spirit.

In the 8th grade (shut it about my age), a group of us would all meet in the band room to listen to Prince’s Controversy album, because none of our parents would let us listen to it at home. That album means more to me than most people would imagine. R.I.P. Prince and thank you for sharing yourself with the world. ❤

Everywhere I Look

Isn’t that true? Especially in a virtual world like Second Life where we’re not only allowed but encouraged to push beyond the boundaries of our own imaginations. I’m continuously amazed by all the beauty I encounter in this virtual world. From beautiful clothing, to furnishings and decor…and best of all, the places people build to share with the rest of us. Whether is an RP sim, a game experience like the ones from MadPea, clubs, homes, or places designed specifically for exploring.

Lately, I’ve taken that same awe in wonder that I find myself with in a virtual world and looking at the real world in similar ways. It really is an incredible world we live in, whether looking at nature, man-made structures, or even destruction…there is beauty and awe to be found at every turn if we simply open our minds and take a good look.

While that really has very little, okay, nothing to do with my look here…I will say that I took these pictures on the stage area of a new club called Dante’s Inferno. I love this little place. Its beautifully decorated and the owners have been genuinely welcoming…that’s been my experience anyway. I encourage you all to open your eyes in both worlds and look with your heart at all the wonders surrounding us. ❤
