“Pretty things just taste better,” she purred as she pulled only the prettiest grapes off the bunch, popping one in her glittering red mouth before putting the rest on her plate. She was quite accustomed to pretty things…pretty men, pretty cars, pretty jewelry, pretty clothes, a pretty reflection, and most importantly pretty delusions. She no longer saw her true self in the mirror, she saw the younger version of herself. There in the mirror she saw only the inner beauty she radiated, untouched by the hands of time and unclear without her glasses. She was quite grateful for weak eyes for this very reason.
I suppose that while beauty is in the eye of the beholder, society has set a few norms for most of us. Gourmet foods often look quite aesthetic, but do they always taste better? It really comes down to personal preference, doesn’t it? One of the many reasons I love Second Life is that it allows me the freedom to set my own standard for what’s pretty and surround myself with lots of pretty pixel treats, including friends. So, as I rejoin the blogging world for the first time in over four years, I’ve gathered some of my closest friends and asked them to wear some of their favorite pretty things.
